Plush deep red carpet runs the depth of the room from the doors up the steps to the throne dais. An elegant crystal and gold chandelier hangs from a high vaulted ceiling, providing ample lighting. Tall, stained glass windows depicting several events from Zoluren history frame the dais. The floor of polished black marble reflects the brilliance of a gem encrusted crystal scepter resting on a black velvet covered display stand. You also see a mahogany pedestal with a fragile-looking book on it and some double doors of polished teak trimmed in gold.

Also in the room: Prince Vorclaf who is sitting.

Obvious exits: none.

You gesture, and a shimmering aethereal image of Renwulf with a morose face appears in the air above you.

Wavering slightly, the aethereal image breaks apart into thousands of sparkling silver-blue motes. After scattering through the air, they quickly re-form into the image of a pair of tall towers wreathed in dense fog.

With a casual flick of your wrist, you dismiss the aethereal image. It silently implodes, releasing a shower of silver-blue sparks that slowly fade into nothingness.

You say to Kurako, "Nothing."

Raecear quietly says to Kurako, "That was Renwulf's psychosis manifesting as aether mana."

Daku asks, "has he started babbling yet?"

You say, "Not that I can see."

Kurako clears his throat.

Tetsuko gasps at Daku!

Kurako gnaws at the tip of his mustache in irritation.

Royal Jester Anpimoi's group came through some double doors of polished teak trimmed in gold.

You say, "I be lovin that jester."

You snicker.

Anpimoi bows to Vorclaf.

Delessa bows to Vorclaf.

Anpimoi recites:

"Their Royal Personages, King Galpelus and Queen Unavia!"

Anpimoi gives an elaborately showy bow, almost sinking to the floor but not quite. And then springs back up

You let out a loud "Huzzah!"

Vorclaf stands up.

King Galpelus's group came through some double doors of polished teak trimmed in gold.

Unavia nods to Vorclaf.

Galpelus nods to Vorclaf.

Raecear applauds.

Tetsuko gets an impish expression on her face, and lets out a hearty cheer.

Nephraen says, "I think rotten vegetables are more in order."

Kurako quietly asks, "Who are they? King and Queen? Of what?"

Galpelus says, "Good evening to you."

Anpimoi glances at Delessa.

With a graceful movement of her hands, Delessa lowers her head and sinks into a formal curtsy before Unavia.

You quietly say, "The Merelew."

Vorclaf says, "And you as well, Kind Galpelus."

Galpelus says, "We appreciate you seeing us on somewhat short notice."

Raecear says, "Wherever their island is called.. I can not recall.."

Daku whispers something to Kurako.

Kurako blinks at Daku.

Kurako looks over his shoulder nervously.

Annamary asks, "Andreleshew?"

Kurako frets.

Tetsuko nods.

Annamary says, "Something like that"

Raecear nods to Annamary.

Daku clears his throat.

Rayvne nods to Annamary.

Annamary asks, "Andreshlew?"

Raecear says to Annamary, "Oh impressive, that's it."

(Kurako drops off the bench and proceeds to watch from between people's feet.)

Galpelus's pupils narrow slightly.

Annamary says, "Maybe they'll tell us."

Arilana stands quietly in a corner of the throne room.

Anpimoi whispers something to Delessa.

Vorclaf asks, "Now then, what was it you wished to see me about?"

Delessa glances at Arilana.

Delessa just nudged Anpimoi.

Galpelus says, "I must say, I had not anticipated a formal discussion here in your throne room."

Vorclaf says, "The library tends to get a bit cramped."

Vorclaf waves a hand dismissively.

Unavia says, "We feel opening trade between our people to be of benefit."

Vorclaf turns his attention toward Unavia.

Anpimoi bounces from foot to foot, the bells on his outfit jingling softly.

Vorclaf glances at Anpimoi.

Arilana glances nervously at Vorclaf and shakes her head ever so slightly.

Kurako fidgets nervously.

Vorclaf says, "Trade agreements are tricky business."

Galpelus glances at Arilana.

Delessa whispers something to Anpimoi.

You cover your eyes.

Unavia says, "My people are master crafters of watersilk which should hold interest."

Vorclaf says, "Indeed. The quality is undeniable."

Annamary grins.

You quietly say, "And ye get all the nice weaponry that falls from the ships of hapless sailors..."

Unavia asks, "Are you worried of your percentages young Prince?"

Anpimoi whispers something to Delessa.

Galpelus asks, "Are are you worried about something else?"

Raecear begins chortling at Annamary.

Galpelus asks, "Why would they not benefit from what we have to offer?"

Nephraen asks, "...but mostly of the coffers, yes?"

Raecear asks, "What bad could come of trade with merelew? Are zoluren crafters worried of being put to shame?"

Galpelus says, "We have come a long way. I certainly hope the least you can do is speak with us on this matter."

Anpimoi slips up beside Galpelus, leaning in to whisper something quickly in his ear.

Raecear ponders who else has been at the rum punch.

Vorclaf says, "There are many wandering my keep, Your Highness. Their import varies greatly."

Anpimoi shrinks back just a bit, nodding quickly.

Galpelus exclaims, "Anpimoi!"

Vorclaf says, "But if that is the type of trade you seek, my people.. we may simply end talks here."

Anpimoi makes a big show to clear some room, pointing across the room at Arilana. "She has the bracelet!" he exclaims loudly.

Vorclaf says to Arilana, "You may lea.."

Unavia says, "We do not deal in such things."

Galpelus says, "She has been missing for some time now and this bracelet is the first of her belongings we've seen."

The color drains from Unavia's face as she stares at the bracelet.

Sibley asks Kurako, "Things don't seem to be going well, do they?"

Arilana looks about with a sense of panic.

Raecear says, "I guess this means there won't be desert after the audience..."

You frown at Raecear.

Arilana says, "I..."

Galpelus asks, "Why would my beloved daughter just lose something like that?"

Daku says, "if you want desert, you can go to Muspar'i"

Delessa frowns.

Sibley asks you, "So the girl with the bracelet, is she the one that washed up out of the sea?"

Vorclaf says, "Perhaps it was a gift. Perhaps a great many things."

You nod to Sibley.

Delessa fidgets nervously.

Anpimoi whispers something to Galpelus.

Vorclaf says, "But you will NOT sit and attack my people."

Arilana says, "Please, Vorclaf."

Sibley asks you, "And who is the other one, the one that's so chummy with the jester?"

Galpelus raises a finger at Vorclaf and says, "Don't raise your voice to me boy!"

Vorclaf turns toward Arilana.

Vorclaf says, "You don't have to..."

Arilana looks at Vorclaf with eyes welling with tears.

Raecear says, "Maybe Arilana is secretly a merelew wearing a false mustache."

Anpimoi shoots looks around the room.

Arilana says, "I do."

Galpelus asks, "Do you know where my daughter is?"

Kurako asks, "She's pretending to be a dwarf?"

Rayvne rests her hand on Raecear's arm with a soft smile.

Talace rolls her eyes.

Raecear says, "Though I knew a scholar that did a study on the beneficial effects of salmon on memory retention."

Raecear says, "I wonder if merelew consume much salmon."

Unavia's eyes roll back in her head as her knees buckle causing her to collapse in a heap to the ground.

Kurako asks, "Wouldn't that be cannibalism?"

Raecear says, "Well some fish eat other fish.."

Kurako peers quizzically at Raecear.

Galpelus fixes Arilana with a serene, lofty stare.

Tetsuko says, "awwwww"

Sibley grins at Annamary.

You frown.

Raecear says, "And they're significantly larger than salmon. Maybe they're just higher up the food chain."

You ask Raecear, "However did she change her appearance, eh?"

Kurako says, "Ah, yes, goodpoint, yesyes"

Talace says to Raecear, "Y'should go suggest that to 'em, really"

Arilana exclaims, "I love him. Vorclaf, send for water, quickly!"

Tetsuko exclaims, "Attagirl Arilana!"

Raecear says to you, "Perhaps through some kind of lunar magic."

Raecear says, "Light altering or something.."

Galpelus kneels down.

Raecear says, "Though I didn't sense anyone detect my locational magic when I used it on the stage."

Daku says to Kurako, "I tried to tell you"

Galpelus caresses Unavia's face for a moment.

Kurako glances at Daku.

Vorclaf gives a slight nod to a pair of attendants at the door. The pair rush through the double doors.

Raecear ponders.

Kurako quietly exclaims, "You might be right... I KNEW they were here!"

Raecear says, "It could be some manner of enchantment."

You gesture, and a water ball forms in your hand.

Arilana exclaims, "Anpi!"

You drop your water ball. It hits the floor with a loud *PLOP* and flattens out from the impact, but then bounces back into a spherical shape.

Raecear chuckles at you!

Galpelus exclaims, "You are no daughter of mine!"

Arilana says, "Get something stronger for him."

Galpelus shakes his fist!

Anpimoi twitches a little.

Surely there are more interesting things to nudge than the ball!

Arilana says, "Oh, Father, of course I am."

Delessa softly says, "Princess.."

Galpelus says, "No no no no"

Raecear says, "Or maybe some kind of.. clothing.. disguise.."

Tetsuko applauds.

Delessa shakes her head.

Kurako glances at Raecear.

Daku says, "Ocular"

Kurako points at Daku.

Galpelus says, "My children would never do such a thing."

Kurako nods at Daku, obviously agreeing with his views.

Unavia shakes her head slowly as she comes to.

Raecear blinks at Daku.

You say, "I suppose the Merelew did resemble elves, I'm not fer knowin what so many of yer kind look like. Easy ta mistake um."

Kurako frets.

Unavia asks, "Galpelus?"

Daku says, "we've long suspected Vorclaf was one"

Arilana smiles softly at Delessa. "I've missed you so, dear friend."

Vorclaf leans back slightly.

Galpelus asks, "Are you feeling better?"

Raecear shows you The Ocular card. The Ocular are a mysterious race from the southern continent about whom little is known. They can change shape at will, appearing to be anyone at any time. They are cunning, sinister people with their own agenda. If you suspect you're talking to an Ocular, find a Halfling to stand beside you. Their love of tender Olvi flesh is a dead giveaway.

Unavia says, "I don't understand."

You nod at Raecear, in complete agreement with his views.

Kurako frets.

Arilana says, "Help her up, Father."

Kurako quietly says, "I knew they'd come for me"

Galpelus says, "This woman is an imposter and she has stolen that bracelet."

Arilana asks, "Delessa, do you still have the purple shell we exchanged when we were but ten and promised never to tell anyone?"

Tetsuko asks, "Am I the only one that ditched my weapons?"

You scrunch your eyebrows together and furrow your brow.

Galpelus says, "How convenient."

Galpelus asks, "What kind of place do you run here?"

Delessa softly says, "Of course I do."

Arilana asks, "And, Mother, when you caught me with the stable boy...and promised we wouldn't tell Father?"

Anpimoi crack's an eye open, peeking.

Galpelus forces Unavia out of his group.

Raecear holds his hand up before his mouth and begins to cough, his shoulders shaking. Hope it's not contagious!

Annamary snickers.

Unavia gasps!

Nephraen chuckles.

Talace smirks.

Kurako blinks.

Tetsuko says, "I think he knows now"

Galpelus exclaims, "I won't listen to any more of this!"

Talace nods to Tetsuko.

Sibley grins at Tetsuko.

Unavia exclaims, "But what has happened to you!"

Anpimoi backs toward the exit, shaking his head.

Kurako gnaws on his lip.

Arilana says, "I had to...it was the only way I could be with him."

Raecear says, "The king is outside the doors.."

Raecear points out.

Vorclaf stands up.

Nephraen asks, "Poor man? What does royalty know about misery?"

Unavia asks, "This man is worth giving up your heritage for?"

Delessa stands near Anpimoi.

Talace says to Nephraen, "Findin' out about the prince and the stable boy... in one night"

Kurako quietly asks, "Should we tell him it's an ocular?"

A puddle of water on the floor evaporates away.

Arilana says, "This man is worth giving up almost everything for."

Daku nods.

Tetsuko exclaims, "You go girl!"

Unavia says, "You must love him very much then."

Unavia sighs.

Anpimoi shudders.

Kurako hesitantly exclaims, "You... you tell him, he'd probably eat me!"

Daku slips quietly out of the room.

Nephraen says to Talace, "Hrmph... I would think the impoverished people living right outside the keep beg to differ."

Vorclaf says, "I assure you, Your Highness, unlike a river, it flows both ways."

Kurako slips out of his seat.

Arilana nods to Unavia.

Anpimoi stares blankly into the distance.

Sibley says, "Easier to love a Prince than a stable boy it seems."

Raecear begins chortling at Sibley.

Talace says to Nephraen, "I suspect the fathers among 'em might sympathise"

Sibley looks at Raecear and shrugs.

Delessa just nudged Anpimoi.

Arilana says, "And if it means giving up my heritage, then so be it."

Arilana stands near Vorclaf.

Unavia says, "That is good news young Prince. If you have captured my daughter's heart then I am pleased."

Anpimoi frowns at Arilana.

Arilana throws herself into her mother's arms, tears steaming down her face.

Unavia gently kisses Arilana on the cheek.

Arilana says, "Thank you Mother! I've missed you horribly."

Talace says, "I'm thinkin' that man don't know so much about the poor masses as he thinks"

Talace scratches her head.

Anpimoi mumbles something under his breath.

Raecear says, "Inquiring minds still want to know why she looks like that.."

Raecear says, "Something isn't fishy here..."

Unavia says, "You are my heart, dear daughter."

Arilana glances at Anpimoi.

Annamary glances at Raecear.

Annamary gazes upward.

Annamary says to Raecear, "Too bad we dont have a bard here for the drumroll."

Vorclaf says, "And all things considered, I think that this should only help encourage Trade talks."

Unavia says, "You know your father's temper dear. He's probably pacing the hall."

You say, "Someone might be wantin ta step outside and make sure the King doesna get attacked by them Louts."

Unavia asks, "Perhaps we should go find him for a more private talk?"

You scrunch your eyebrows together and furrow your brow.

Annamary says, "I'm sure he an handle the louts."

Talace says to you, "Mood he looked t'be in, I wouldn't worry about him"

Nephraen says to Raecear, "More snobbish royalty... nothing different from up there."

Raecear nods.

You frown.

She has pointed ears and sparkling green eyes. Her shining black hair hangs below her knees and is parted on the right side. She has fair skin with a touch of blushing on her high cheekbones. She is slightly under average height for an Elf.

She is adult for an Elf.

She is in good shape.

She is wearing a circlet of pearls woven in seafoam and white ribbons, a pale green hip pouch embroidered with a gladiolus, a pair of white satin slippers laced with seafoam ribbons, a front-laced seafoam dress worn over a sparlking white chemise and a mauve and pastel green coral bracelet with a moon pearl clasp.

You see Queen Unavia of Andreshlew.

Her non-blinking, grey-blue eyes sparkle even now in her advanced age. Covering her exposed body are blue scales with just a hint of silver along the edges. A single swath of silvery-blue hair runs across her head. It is brushed to the right and pulled into a single ponytail across her right shoulder, proof of her noble status. Her ears are slightly pointed, revealing the once Elven background of the Merelew.

She is holding a mug of mocha coffee in her left hand.

She is in good shape.

A closely fitted red robe trails behind her, covering the ground. It also reveals her to be quite fit despite her age. Around her neck she wears a sea-blue diamond the size of a Halfling's fist encircled with platnium and gold. Her belt appears to be crafted from the finest silks known and held together above her right hip with a bronze figure that clasps the fabric in each arm.

You study the area...

Sibley is a female Gnome. She is young for a Gnome.

Kurako is a male Gnome. He is young for a Gnome.

Talace is a female Human. She is in her prime for a Human.

Tetsuko is a female Kaldar. She is in her prime for a Kaldar.

Rayvne is a female Elf. You cannot tell much else about her.

Annamary is a female Elothean. She is fairly young for an Elothean.

Unavia is a female Merelew. While obviously advanced in years, Queen Unavia still appears quite fit for a Merelew.

Anpimoi is a male Merelew. Despite your best efforts, you're unable to guess how old Anpimoi is.

Arilana asks, "Have you seen the King?"

Delessa came through a simple door leading into the throne room.

Kurako points southwest.

You see Delessa, a Merelew.

She has green eyes and a single swath of silver hair that grows from the center of her scalp. It is shoulder length fine hair that is loose and pushed to the left side of her head, and metallic silver scales cover her body from head to toe.

Delessa's hands are empty but you notice her fingers are slightly webbed.

She is wearing a silvery silk handbag clasped by a large black pearl, an iridescent ivory watersilk shawl, a woven silver choker sprinkled with tiny sapphire beads, a filmy gown of mist-blue watersilk adorned with a row of freshwater pearls along the neckline and some thin-strapped silver sandals.

You see Anpimoi, a Merelew.

He has clear eyes, no hair to speak of, and silver scales cover his body from head to toe.

He is in good shape.

Anpimoi's hands are empty but you notice his fingers are slightly webbed.

He is wearing an embroidered watersilk scarlet hat topped with three gold bells, a flowing watersilk tunic of vibrant scarlet and gold with dagged sleeves, a sharkskin hip pouch decorated with strands of seaweed knotted around a variety of shells, some hose of alternating gold and deep scarlet diamonds and a pair of burnished gold watersilk slippers.

Grinning widely to reveal razor-sharp teeth, a small beady-eyed spriggan scampers into the area.

Cruel cunning etches the face of this small, twisted creature. Standing about the height of a Halfling, the spriggan resembles a grotesque mockery of humanity with black, unblinking eyes, gnarled limbs, and bark-like skin.

After a spat of fighting we regrouped deep within the keep...

[Ulf'Hara Keep, Receiving Area]

Elegant sconces adorn the polished walls, casting soft flickering light on the mosaic tile floor. Double doors of polished teak trimmed in gold lead into the Prince's throne room. Several elegantly carved rosewood chairs sit along each wall, providing comfort for those wishing an audience with the regent. You also see a mud-stained iron caddy, a short sword, a mildewy oaken coffer, some copper coins, a small red-green bloodstone, a small cat's eye quartz, a small red-green bloodstone, a small red-green bloodstone, a small green malachite stone, some copper coins, a medium red-green bloodstone, a war hammer, a hunchbacked Shadow Servant, a linen-lined sideboard with some stuff on it, a tall silvered mirror beneath an elaborate arch, and some junk.

Also in the room: Prince Vorclaf, King Galpelus, Daku, Honorable Tetsuko, Sibley, Talace, Nephraen, and Rayvne.

You exclaim, "Blasted fanatics!"

Raecear gestures.

Raecear says, "Watch out."

Vorclaf glances at you.

Raecear says, "Enemies approach."

Raecear says, "Severel dozen, from the southwest."

With the beasts vanquished we regrouped and said our goodbyes. Galeplus and Vorclaf made peace, and he even refered to the Prince as his son! What the future hold for the two lovebirds only time shall tell... now, there is a wedding to plan!
